Dear customer,
Sunflower oil is normally used for this product.
However, there is currently too little sunflower oil on the world markets. The reason for this is the war against Ukraine. So far, about half of the sunflower seeds available worldwide have been grown there. And now large quantities of the sunflowers are missing – and as a result also the oil.
In order to be able to continue to produce delicious snacks for you, an alternative vegetable oil is temporarily used. This product was produced with RSPO-SG certified palm oil. This has no significant effect on the taste, which remains delicious as usual.
Because this product was switched to palm oil at very short notice and this is only intended to be temporary, the packaging layout has not been adapted. By using palm oil, the calories and the total fat content remain unchanged overall, i.e. as stated in the nutritional table. However, palm oil increases the proportion of saturated fatty acids. For products that show the Nutri-Score on the front of the pack, the rule of thumb is that the use of palm oil lowers the Nutri-Score by one letter. That is, if a Nutri-Score C is on the pack layout, it becomes a D with palm oil. A D, in turn, becomes an E.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
